Well the wait is over at last as all three seasons and the 2-hour pilot are now available together with the release of Transformers Animated: The Complete Series on DVD. The show Transformers: Animated first aired in 2007 and caused a stir with its rather unique visual style though only lasted three seasons and left this fan and reviewer with questions unanswered.

While the shows Gen 1, Beast Wars and Prime rate high on my list of Transformers media, I also like another iteration of everyone’s favorite robots. Those aren't very G1 styled. With the Transformers in the spotlight again it seems like a perfect time to release some more Robots in Disguise-y goodness with the release of one of my favorite installments in Hasbro’s 30 years of bringing us the Cybertronian giants.

You're mostly right, but there's the still the studio series movie figures, particularly the constructicons/devastator. I know Hasbro's trying to strike the G1 iron while it's hot but there are ways you can do that as well as make the other TF fans happy too so it's frustrating that Hasbro's isn't even trying to do even that. Telltale games found that out the hard way which is why they went under to begin with. You can't keep selling the same similar looking products and stories over and over forever. Not only does it alienate the other TF fans that grew up with those eras but it's also going to end up causing problems for them cause you can only take trying to make everything the same G1 styled content for so long before people will demand for something different. Honestly the fact that Hasbro's seemingly to be willing to forget not only Animated but every other non G1 era in general and sweep them under the rug because they don't fit their plan to make everything similar is a huge reason why I don't like the current direction the company's taking with Transformers.
